The Position:


The Manager of Faculty Support ensures effective and timely provision of administrative and support services to individual faculty, scholarly programs and events, and specialized academic programs; supervises faculty services staff; and manages all aspects of faculty support.


The Manager is the primary point person for all faculty support-related tasks and responsibilities, including but not limited to:


  • Supervise two administrative assistants to provide day-to-day support for faculty in teaching, scholarship and committee work, including word processing, copying, mailing, etc.
  • Provide appropriate training and support to faculty services staff to ensure that staff members are proficient with relevant computer software programs
  • Assist faculty with travel and other expense reimbursement procedures
  • Support conferences, panels, and other events hosted by faculty, including coordinating registration, catering, supplies, travel arrangements, etc.
  • Work with various faculty committees to arrange interviews with faculty appointment candidates and visits by speakers; make travel arrangements and facilitate expense reimbursements for guests and interviewees; maintain records of applicants; serve as liaison for on-site event services, coordinate catering and a/v support
  • Work with IT to ensure that faculty-issued software and hardware are maintained
  • Oversee the orientation all new faculty members, including visiting faculty
  • Work with the Vice Dean’s Office to maintain and allocate faculty offices, keys, ID cards, and other internal documents
  • Work with the Registrar to manage certain curricular needs, such as ordering textbooks and other classroom materials, posting materials on internal course platform (Canvas), communicate room assignments and other important information to faculty, etc.
  • Work with the Dean of Students on the management, printing, and delivery of take-home examinations
  • All other general administrative tasks that faculty may reasonably require
  • Interact with all members of the full time Cardozo faculty, including visitors, as well as many adjunct faculty, faculty workshop and symposium speakers/guests, and faculty candidates


Experience and Educational Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3-5 years related experience in a management and supervisory capacity

Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent knowledge of desktop software, including Microsoft Office. Knowledge of Canvas a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
