THE POSITION:

Yeshiva University’s Katz School seeks a dynamic program director to lead its new graduate M.S. in Biotechnology Management and Entrepreneurship, which will prepare students to manage and commercialize biotechnology products and services. The director will be responsible for the development, launch and ongoing administration of this exciting new program.

 

The position may be eligible for a senior clinical appointment or tenure depending on experience and qualifications. 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop a strategic vision and implementation plan for the program
  • Develop and lead a practitioner-based faculty recruitment including hiring, development, evaluation, and creating a culture of collegiality and shared governance
  • Oversee curriculum development, assessment, and continuous improvement
  • Oversee student recruitment and selection with the expectation of significant program growth
  • Establish partnerships with local, regional, national, and international industry organizations and startups to enhance the reputation and visibility of the program, and to secure internships and jobs for graduates
  • Ensure student academic and professional success
  • Manage day-to-day operations, budgets and resources of the program

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education & Experience

  • Master’s degree in biotechnology or related field; Ph.D., M.D. or J.D. preferred
  • Minimum 3 years in higher education administration including but not limited to program planning, implementation and assessment; recruiting and developing faculty (full-time and adjunct)
  • Professional experience in biotechnology or related fields and a strong network of industry connections

Skills & Competencies

  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching and mentoring graduate students as evidenced by prior student evaluations, teaching portfolios, and peer-evaluations, etc.
  • Exceptional writing and presentation skills
