    The Position:


    The Administrative Coordinator will provide support to the Dean of Students.


    • Oversee the planning and coordination of key special events such as Orientation and student workshops
    • Serve as the primary point of initial contact on any matter. Independently research and prioritizes incoming issues and determine appropriate course of action, referral and/or response
    • Receive, screen, evaluate and determine appropriate response to all written correspondence received by the office.  Independently formulate and disseminate written responses as appropriate
    • Ensure that the department receives the administrative support required to meet its commitments and responsibilities.  Maintain calendars, make travel arrangements, and update pending commitments and appointments. Assist supervisor with administrative requirements
    • Manage special projects/programs, some of which may have University-wide impact; coordinate immigration documentation fulfillment for international student and scholar visas meeting with new international students to collect immigration documents for check-in


    Experience and Educational Background


    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • 2-3 years of administrative experience. Equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education will be considered

    Skills and Competencies


    • Must possess strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
    • Must demonstrate good judgment, initiative and attention to detail
    • Must be able to effectively track time and resources to prioritize own work assignments
    • Must possess strong customer service, communication and organizational skills
    • Understand and use technology to accomplish goals
    • Identify, define and analyze information and situations before recommending a course of action
