POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The Katz School at Yeshiva University seeks a full-time clinical instructor specializing in either mathematics education or college writing/literacy education to serve as core faculty in the university’s associate degree program.

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and teach primarily freshman and sophomore-level courses to a diverse student population – with the occasional opportunity to teach graduate level courses.
    • Writing courses may include: first-year writing, business communication, speech communication, and related courses.
    • Math courses may include: business algebra, statistics, information systems, and related courses.
  • Collaborate with program faculty on curriculum design.
  • Participate in ongoing curriculum development and faculty training initiatives.
  • Communicate regularly with program director and advisement team regarding student support needs and participate in student support initiatives.
  • Participate in student recruitment efforts and program events.
  • Engage in professional development activities in field of expertise.
  • Contribute to the growth and development of the Katz School through service and committee participation, normally expected of faculty members.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in related field required; doctorate preferred.
  • Track record of teaching excellence and experience working with students with different abilities, levels of preparation, and cultural experiences – preferably in community college or developmental education setting.
  • Experience developing and teaching collaborative, project-based curricula.
  • Experience using evidence-driven pedagogies and instructional practices for math or writing education.
  • Demonstrate commitment to a learner-centered environment.
  • High energy level, enthusiasm, and interest in helping and supporting students and colleagues.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative, and organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Solutions orientation and ability to work in a start-up organization.
