The Position:

 

The Director will develop community-based outreach programs to increase engagement, education and awareness of Yeshiva University’s new and expanding academic programs, including graduate and associate’s degree; high school programs, summer session, and other special initiatives. S/he will lead the creation and implementation of community recruitment efforts via event planning, digital initiatives, information sessions and alumni engagement -- with the intention of reaching both the Modern Orthodox and broader Jewish communities. S/he will connect with undergraduate and community colleges, community organizations, businesses, and other potential partners to develop relationships, feeder programs, agreements, and other sources of potential enrollments. S/he will collaborate with a variety of offices, including Graduate Enrollment Management and New Programs & Special Initiatives, to develop and shape these outreach and recruitment strategies. The Director is responsible for creating statistical reports, modeling and projecting application volume within recruitment territories. The Director will be responsible for knowledge of the admission database system, data management and extraction for reporting. Travel and some evening/weekend hours are required.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic, tactical and operational planning and participation in recruitment trips and activities for the Office of Graduate Enrollment Management including: relevant graduate fairs, forums, professional conferences, workshops, seminars and meetings
  • Identify and implement opportunities to build the Yeshiva University brand as one of the preeminent graduate and professional places to study in the nation
  • Research trends to expand Jewish community outreach and recruitment opportunities
  • Develop appropriate measurements to ensure effectiveness of recruiting activities
  • Cultivate relationships and collaborate with other academic units at the university, college and department levels to maintain effective reporting capability
  • Organize and coordinate the activities of partner vendors who provide recruitment opportunities, recommend new vehicles for promoting Yeshiva  programs, and seek out new partnership opportunities
  • Routinely perform outcomes assessment and evaluation of recruitment tactics and strategies
  • Oversee and participate in on-campus, off-campus and virtual recruitment and yield events
  • Provide admission counseling to prospective students

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience and Educational Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree and five or more years of professional experience required
  • Master’s degree in a related field and more than five years relevant work experience preferred
  • Experience working with the target community for better outreach and familiarity
  • Experience with quantitative, market-based approach to planning recruitment activities
  • Professional experience in the higher education and/or admissions and recruitment context preferred
  • Experience with CRMs and other related technologies preferred

Skills and Competencies:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication
  • Experience developing new tools for capturing and evaluating data and ability to effectively communicate data analysis results to a diverse audience
  • Strong data management and analytical skills, including a thorough understanding of how to gather, codify and analyze data to create reports and projections to inform decision-making
  • Familiarity within an academic environment
  • Ability to exercise independent judgement and discretion and a demonstrated track record of taking initiative, being proactive, and remaining flexible and resilient
  • Strong interpersonal skills, preferably in the context of working with diverse student populations
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible, to multi-task, and to meet deadlines in a high-paced team environment
