    The Position:


    The Facilities Manager is responsible for all equipment & staff relating to the Plant Operations departments at the Yeshiva University High school for Girls campus in Queens. The facilities Manager has sufficient stated authority, powers of sanction and resources to take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the building, and to identify the need for essential repairs or maintenance to be carried out.


    • Supervise the Housekeeping and landscaping staff as they carry out their responsibilities
    • Create a schedule for all housekeeping personnel and ensure that it is efficient
    • Supervise the Housekeeping staff on complex assortments of equipment
    • Responsible for setting up and overseeing maintenance of plant equipment to ensure its proper functioning
    • Point person for all vendors who work on building issues
    • Point person for all building inspections and permit renewals
    • Recommend outside vendors where applicable
    • Oversee the maintenance and repair of building facilities such as electrical installations, plumbing fixtures, and HVAC systems
    • Act as liaison with University personnel on all facility related issues
    • Help develop a budget and oversee it throughout the school year
    • Coordinate with the security personnel on all events and day to day activities
    • Conduct regular walkthroughs of the campus with the Head of School (or appointed upper administrator) and identify areas of need
    • Help develop a yearlong strategic plan of building cleanliness and potential larger projects (painting entire building, renovations, etc.)
    • Responsible for ordering all facility related supplies through the University



    Experience and Educational Background:


    • BA/BS Degree and 5 years prior facilities operation experience required
    • If no BA/BS Degree then an equivalent combination of education and prior related experience may also be considered
    • Specific experience in electric and plumbing
