    The Position:

     

    The Lead Maintenance Worker performs and oversees a variety of maintenance related tasks. The schedule for this position is Monday-Thursday 8am -5pm, Friday 8am - 1:30pm.

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Ensure work is accomplished in a professional manner and conforms with work order requirements, specifications and building codes
    • Compute material requirements for specific jobs. Maintain adequate shop stock levels and requisition tools, equipment, materials and supplies for accomplishing shop assignments
    • Assign duties to staff and provide routine guidance
    • Perform duties of maintenance worker
    • Perform duties as a member of the Fire Brigade
    • Perform other related duties as assigned

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Experience and Educational Background:

    • High School Diploma and 5 years of recent experience in a variety of building trades is required
    • Construction industry experience is preferred
    • Valid state driver’s license is required

    Skills and Competencies

    • Must possess the strength and dexterity needed to perform the job and the physical ability to move equipment as necessary
    • Must adhere to operational safety rules and regulations as deemed by the University
    • Must be able to follow directives and possess good communication skills and ability to interact with building/office occupants effectively
    • Must be able to effectively provide direction to lower level staff
    • Respirator Fit Testing may be required
