    The Position:


    The Director of Field Education ensures the overall operation of online field instruction portion of the MSW program. This position will report to the Dean of WSSW and will have primary responsibility and lead accountability for the field education of the online program.


    Faculty Oversight

    • Recruit high performing field faculty with proven teaching competencies
    • Supervise and evaluate online field faculty daily and provide annual performance evaluations of online field faculty
    • Ensure the proper scheduling and staffing of all field seminars
    • Supervise and evaluate the online field program making necessary corrections
    • Troubleshoot with field faculty on students who are having difficulty finding a placement or completing field requirements
    • Support field faculty in ongoing professional development
    • Develop, maintain, and implement metrics to evaluate field faculty performance
    • In coordination with the Associate Dean and the Director of Field Education, work with online field faculty on difficult online student issues
    • Facilitate online field seminar assignments each semester

    Student Relations

    • As part of the Admissions Committee review student applications for admission to the program
    • Work closely with Student Development Committee and Academic Advisors to support online student success
    • Support systems and processes for coordination between Academic and Field Advising
    • Work in conjunction with Everspring to support student enrollment in online field orientation
    • Review and manage student evaluations of field faculty and course content
    • Respond to difficult student issues as needed

    Program Development/Support

    • Develop, maintain, and implement policies and processes for the smooth operation of field education
    • Assess the quality of field course content and swiftly identify courses that need immediate revisions
    • Assess the interface of field and academic courses
    • Identify areas of need and improvement to maintain the success of field education
    • Coordinate/translate online program issues and needs with on campus systems
    • Participate in school committees, meetings, and projects
    • Develop and maintain positive relationships with agencies nation-wide and globally

    Online Course Development

    • Coordinate field course development with the Associate Dean and the Director of the MSW Program
    • Work when needed with IT as it relates to field education
    • Work closely with Everspring to develop processes and resources to support the delivery of MSWO field education courses


    • Stay up-to-date on program the budget through regular consultation with Dean and the MSW Program Director
    • Meet regularly with the Associate Dean to provide strong leadership to the SSW


    Experience and Educational Background:

    • Master's degree required preferably in social work or other related field
    • 7-10 years of progressive administrative and/or direct service experience in human services or education

    Skills and Competencies

    • Must have program development and personnel management experience
    • Undergraduate or graduate teaching experience is desirable
    • Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills
    • Direct field instructor experience
    • Clinical practice experience
    • Supervisory experience
    • SIFI trained
    • Online education experience as a student and teacher
    • Understanding of the vision and mission of the Wurzweiler School of Social work and Yeshiva University is required
