    The Position:

The Clinical Fellow will provide support for the Indie Film Clinic’s client work by supervising the work of some of the clinic students as they create and manage content for the Clinic’s new partnership, as well as supervise some of the clinic students in their client work.

The Fellow will provide support for the following responsibilities:

    • Client work with some Clinic clients. Beginning in Spring 2018, the Indie Film Clinic will have eight students, and the Advanced Indie Film Clinic will have five students. We have an enormous number of clients who would like us to take on additional work. We have exponentially increased the number of legal teams in the clinic, but in order to provide appropriate supervision, we need to be able to properly supervise all the student teams. The Fellow will conduct some supervision on student client work.
    • Supervising student work to prepare content for the new Clinic’s partnership. As part of the partnership, we will be creating a website with both annotated documents, a guide to the legal process for filmmakers, and films. While a partner will actually produce this website, we will need to prepare all content. There are a number of students in the Advanced Legal Clinic who will work on the project, and the Fellow would assist with both supervising those students as well as work to create content on her own.
    • This Fellow will potentially supervise Indie Film Clinic law student interns but will have no other supervisory or budgetary responsibilities.

    • J.D. and a minimum of 3-5 years of legal experience.
    • Ability to draft contracts, conduct legal research, have some knowledge of transactional and intellectual property lawyering, supervise law students, and write effectively.
