The Position:

The Director of Operations will work closely with Head of School in overseeing the day to day operations of the school. This includes technology and transportation requiring a candidate who can build and manage a school network, both hard-wired and wireless. In addition, the position will provide support for approximately 60 faculty and administrative computers, smart boards, computer labs, and other various hardware. The successful candidate needs to be able to design strategic goals and an implementation plan for making technology a vital resource for student and teacher learning in our school. Candidates will be knowledgeable of the latest developments in Educational Technology researching and suggesting the best practices in higher education.




The position will oversee all busing and transportation needs for the school.  This includes planning and scheduling bus routes for:

  • During the school year / Short trips (school bus)
  • After school activities
  • Must oversee vendor relationship and partner with students and parents

Facilities management

  • Oversee the cleaning/set up crew, review daily schedule, and maintain accountability
  • Oversee all facility projects and construction
  • Maintain relationship with facilities vendors needed for school (landscaping, HVAC, etc.)
  • Be the point person for all YU correspondences

Finance and administration

  • Will oversee and manage the school budget in real-time
  • Create budget process for every department with review and accountability schedule
  • Help develop strategic ways to consolidate/reduce spending
  • Work with programming and admissions team to procure goods and services
  • Handle grant application and seek out new grant opportunities


  • As needed, will contact parent who are behind in payments for tuition or other fees
  • Manage the process of all tuition collection and communication to parents

Social Media, Communications

  • Collaborate with the Development, Admissions and Marketing team to advance the goals of each department
  • Support administrative communications utilizing Constant Contact effectively and efficiently


  • Work closely with the YU development team as the point person at the High School
  • Overall all grant and federal/state/city and private funding opportunities for the high school


  • Supervise and manage computer labs
  • Provide support for high school network and wireless network
  • Manage school email and servers
  • Provide support for faculty and administrative hardware (i.e. phones and Xerox machines)
  • Provide professional development for faculty


Experience and Educational Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3+ years of experience
  • Prior responsibility managing a large budget in a complex, preferably academic setting

Skills and Competencies:

  • Broad knowledge of instructional technology equipment and networked information systems
  • Experience in computer repair, installation, and networking as well as phone systems, Xerox machines, etc.
  • Knowledgeable of the latest developments in Educational Technology, both Windows and Mac
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; collaborates with various department
  • Patient, accommodating, and supportive
